Bill Dent is a Senior Security Consultant at Agilient with nearly 30 years of experience protecting people, assets, and operations in Australia and across the globe. He is a recognised specialist in aviation security, international threat and risk assessment, and vehicle-based attack mitigation, with qualifications from IATA, ICAO, and the Australian Attorney-General’s Department.

Before entering private consulting, Bill served for ten years as an intelligence officer with Australian Security and Intelligence Agencies, working in security services analytics, operations, and threat. In 2001, he joined Qantas as International Security Risk Manager — responsible for advising the Qantas Group on security threats to its global operations across flying businesses, terminal operations, and corporate functions. During five years with Qantas, Bill conducted physical security assessments at airports and high-risk ports worldwide and implemented mitigation strategies across the entire group.

Since transitioning to independent consulting in 2006, Bill has delivered a diverse range of projects in government security, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, and event security across Australia and internationally. He is a former member of ASIS International’s Washington-based Global Terrorism, Political Instability and International Crime Council — one of the most prestigious security intelligence advisory bodies in the world.
